The theme of The Vow is that love overcomes struggle. "No matter how long we talked, we never wanted to hang up the phone, even when my phone bill rocketed up from almost nothing to $500 a month" (Carpenter 7). This supports my theme statement because Krickitt and Kim love each other, but they live away from each other so they talk to each other a lot even though the phone bill was get expensive. "Dropping to his stomach, he army crawled through the window beside me" (Carpenter 35). This proves my theme because the man showed love towards Kim and help him out of the car when he was in the accident. "Those people called others, who called others, and by the end of the day people as far away as Russia were praying for Krickitt" (Carpenter 60). This supports my theme because other people showed love for Krickitt by praying for her and then her numbers were getting better and closer to normal.
In The Vow so far Kim called Krickitt for help with getting t-shirts. If Krickitt didn't answer they could have never met! They called each other so much that they decided they need to meet in person and so they did and they ended up staying awake all night talking to each other. They got married and after a couple of weeks they got in an awful car accident between two trucks while Krickitt was driving. A man helped Kim out and others tried to help them. They flew Krickitt to a different hospital and left Kim so his dad had to drive him to the same hospital as Krickitt. Kim got better and got to see Krickitt. She responded to him sometimes, but the doctors weren't impressed. They think she's not going to make it. Right now I'm reading at the part were everyone is praying for her and her numbers are getting better.
